Activities

There is plenty to do along our beautiful south coast.
If you feel like an adventure or want to learn about the history of the area, there’s something for everyone.

Grotto Walk

On the banks of the Shoalhaven River in North Nowra (access from Yurunga Drive), the Grotto is steep in parts, but the walk is short and the ambience of the reserve more than makes up for any effort expended.

Bens Walk

Bens Walk commences at the Nowra Showground. Continue straight up to the lookout – the walk begins here, starting with some steps down to the river.

Bomaderry Creek Walking Track

The walk includes patches of remnant rainforest, spotted gum forest, dry woodland and small hanging swamps. The small gorge is rich in Aboriginal heritage and sheer sandstone faces.

Kangaroo Valley via Cambewarra

Turn left at Bomaderry into Illaroo Rd, then via Budgong Rd and Mt Scanzi Rd to enter historic Kangaroo Valley where you will find beautiful scenery, nice café’s, shops and a pub.

Yalwal and Tallowa Dam

Fabulous scenery and Australian wildlife to be seen on many of the bushwalking tracks.

Terara was the first settlement on the Shoalhaven, but moved to the higher ground of Nowra after flooding.
