Beaches

You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to our nearby beaches.
The closest surf beach (Culburra) is about 14 km by road through farmlands and around river systems.
It is also about 2 km across the Crookhaven river to the southern end of Seven Mile Beach.
The Jervis Bay area is known for its white sand and clear water.
We have many clean and gorgeous beaches right on our doorstep.

Here are a few of our favourites.

Culburra Beach

Stretching from Orient Point in the north to Penguin Head, this beach is lovely for a swim and wildlife watching. You may be lucky enough to see whales from Penguin Head or a sea lion resting on the rocks.

Warrain Beach

Warrain Beach stretches from Penguin Head to Currarong via Kinghorne Point. This is a windswept beauty that usually has good waves.

Lake Wollumboola

Lake Wollumboola is just north of Kinghorne Point and behind Warrain Beach, at the southern edge of Culburra. It’s a landlocked lake, popular with birds (breeding), and enjoyed for sailing, kite surfing and windsurfing. It opens to the sea intermittently, and if landlocked for too long can get smelly.

Callala, Myola and Huskisson Beaches

More Jervis Bay white sand and clear water but with more people and cafés!  Whale and dolphin watching tours depart from Huskisson.

Beecroft Peninsula

The pristine white sandy beaches and inlets of Jervis Bay are only a few kilometres away from the lighthouse. The diving, fishing and snorkelling are first class. The beaches and bays have abundant wildlife in the sea and bush. Aim for sunset on a hot day and cross your fingers to see the wallabies come to the beach for a swim.

Currarong Beach and Abrahams Bosom Reserve

Relaxing, beautiful beaches and rock pools stretch from the southern end of Warrain Beach around to Beecroft Peninsula. Enjoy excellent snorkelling, fishing and spear fishing around the rocks (where permitted). Features of the scenic reserve include the beaches, natural rock pools, creek, scenic walking tracks and picnic facilities.
