There is plenty to do along our beautiful south coast. If you feel like an adventure or want to learn about the history of the area, there’s something for everyone.
On the banks of the Shoalhaven River in North Nowra (access from Yurunga Drive), the Grotto is steep in parts, but the walk is short and the ambience of the reserve more than makes up for any effort expended.
The walk includes patches of remnant rainforest, spotted gum forest, dry woodland and small hanging swamps. The small gorge is rich in Aboriginal heritage and sheer sandstone faces.
Turn left at Bomaderry into Illaroo Rd, then via Budgong Rd and Mt Scanzi Rd to enter historic Kangaroo Valley where you will find beautiful scenery, nice café’s, shops and a pub.
