Activities and Adventure 15-45 min Away

For activities and adventure within Greenwell Point please go to our page Greenwell Point Activities and Adventure. Below we have listed some of the amazing activities and adventure that are served up by mother nature on the NSW South Coast.  This list is not comprehensive, but does include all the great things we’ve found so far.

Shoalhaven Zoo (25 minute drive)

zooSet in 16 acres of native bushland on the banks of the Shoalhaven River at North Nowra, this is the largest Zoo on the NSW South Coast, boasting over 100 species of native and exotic mammals, birds and reptiles.  We go there frequently and love it every time.  Privately owned, managed and by all accounts loved with great talks by very helpful staff.  Don’t miss the “Jungle Walk” along the back of the park – our kids favourite.  And the slippery dip – steep, long and scary.  The animals and animal talks are great too, plus you get to cuddle a koala, snakes and all sorts of other animals.zoo2

NB.  The zoo also runs “zoo keeper” experiences which we also highly recommend.  Our children have both done it and “it was the best EVER”.  This place delivers activities, adventure and education.

Shoalhaven River Cruise

The Shoalhaven River is stunning. Take to it in your own boat, or charter your own cruise!!

Bundanon is a fair hike from Greenwell Point (from memory it is a 40ish minute drive) but well worth the effort.  Set on the Shoalhaven River was a farm, an artists residence (including Arthur Boyd) and now a fabulous space to relax, or enjoy a show, or host a function, or get artistic.
