Angler’s Rest were today notified that it has received aTripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence award. The accolade, which honours hospitality excellence, is given only to establishments that consistently achieve outstanding traveller reviews on TripAdvisor.  Establishments awarded the Certificate of Excellence are located all over the world and represent the upper echelon of businesses listed on the website.

The ECO Certification program assures our guests that we use certified products and efficient procedures and that we are backed by a strong, well managed commitment to sustainable practices and that we provide high quality nature-based tourism experiences.

The Australia based ECO Certification Program is a world first and it has been developed to address the need to identify genuine nature and ecotourism operators.

ECO Certification and the continual improvement of efficient business practice – from energy usage to waste management to education is something the we are committed to look forward to developing.

2013 – Tourism Accommodation

South Coast Regional Tourism Awards
Finalist – Unique Accommodation &  Small Business Operator

These awards recognise the excellence in Tourism carried out by South Coast Tourism Businesses and Organisations     during the financial year 2012-2013. The awards will be presented at a “Celebration of Tourism” black tie Gala Evening in Shellharbour on Wednesday evening the 28th August 2013

2013 – T-QUAL

T-QUAL Accreditation is the Australian Government’s quality framework for the tourism industry. It assesses and supports quality assurance schemes and endorses their members with its national symbol of quality, the T-QUAL Tick. It was introduced to:

• Elevate and standardise quality to ensure the sustainability of Australia’s tourism industry,
• Provide a national symbol that improves the visibility of Australia’s quality tourism experiences; and to
• Offer consumers and buyers a means of making more informed choices about products and services when travel planning.

2013 – Ecotourism

Energy Efficiency for Small Business Program
Certificate of Participation in the NSW Government’s initiative to reduce energy consumption and costs.

Technical support, resources and advice was provided so that we could implement more efficient energy devices and work practices.

We are currently reviewing our carbon usage and utilities costs and expect that these will have decreased dramatically – a win win!!

2012 – Ecotourism

The Bronze Gumnut
The Bronze Gumnut is an Ecotourism based rating program for environmentally sustainable business practices.

To achieve the award we were judged across ten categories including energy efficiency, water and wastewater, biodiversity and local community.

2012 – Accommodation

Best South Coast Park (less than 100 sites, 3 1/2 – 4 star)
The Caravan and Camping Industry Association (CCIA) is an association of employers that represents and supports its members (caravan parks) to enhance performance and achieve commercial goals. It provides a range of services at a level that could not be practically duplicated by a member acting alone.

The CCIA awards are specific to the Caravan Park Industry.
