South Coast Beaches

World famous for marine diversity, white sand & gold sand sand, crystal clear water and fabulous surf, the South Coast Beaches are stacked with the world’s most beautiful beaches and around the Shoalhaven we are spoilt for choice. Culburra Beach faces north at the southern end and then curves up the coast facing east. Warrain Beach (also at Culburra) faces south at the northern end then curves east down the coast to Currarong. So, swell dependent you can either choose a protected still water ocean swim or go for a surf. Alternatively you can drop into one of the Jervis Bay beaches (south west of Greenwell Point,Culburra and Currarong) for a still water swim and maybe a snorkel?

If you have limited experience or just don’t feel confident please watch Dr Rob “Rip” Brander’s video (https://youtu.be/kvHN25wYWAU) on rips or learn more about beach safety (Beachsafe.org) by Surf Life Saving Australia. Failing that please always swim between the flags or even alert a lifesaver that you aren’t very experienced before you head into the water.

The beaches and sights listed below are just a few of our favourites. Even more information about Shoalhaven Beaches (https://www.shoalhaven.nsw.gov.au/Discover-Shoalhaven/Beaches) is provided by Shoalhaven City Council.
